HSOPS Board Of Trustees Educates Members

The Health Sector Occupational Pension Scheme (HSOPS) Board of Trustees as part of its’ strategy to engage members on their pensions held a sensitization on the scheme for some of its members during the Ghana Medical Association at 60 Conference held in Koforidua.

The exercise was carried out by the Education and Sensitization Committee of the Health Sector Occupational Pension Scheme (HSOPS) Board of Trustees in collaboration with the Administrator of the Scheme, Enterprise Trustees, to educate members on their pensions as well as update members on the performance of the scheme.

Commenting on the exercise, the Board Secretary of the HSOPS, Mrs. Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo said; “As Board of Trustees we are concerned about educating our members on their pensions and equipping them with the correct information about their funds. We owe it to our members to ensure that they are aware of how their funds are being managed”.

“We want to ensure that our members enjoy a secure retirement when they retire.” She reiterated. 

Mrs. Ofori-Ampofo used the opportunity to introduce members of the Education and Sensitization Committee and added that the committee will leverage on such platforms to engage its members.

The HSOPS is an Employer Sponsored Scheme set up to cover all health sector employees.

It is a second tier scheme structured to conform to requirements of the National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766). This will enable members to enjoy the tax reliefs and other benefits provided under the National Pensions Act 766.
