Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo is the President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and has 26 years experience in the health sector of Ghana with almost two decades of experience in Trade Unionism .  She is a Nurse Educator and currently teaches at the Nursing and Midwifery Training College at Korle-Bu where she has worked for the past eighteen years.

She is the Africa representative on the International Council of Nurses Board of Directors and also its 3rd Vice President.  She is the immediate past Chairperson of the West African Health Sector Unions Network (WAHSUN) of Public Services International (PSI) and the  the Ghana PSI National Coordinating Council. She holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nursing with Psychology from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast. She is also a certified Trustee of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority of Ghana.

She is a Foundation Fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, a Fellow of the West African Post Graduate College of Nurses and Midwives and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is a Scholar of the Global Nursing Leadership Institute of International Council of Nurses (ICN) and an ICN leadership for Change trainer.

She has served and still serves on a number of national and international committees and Boards including the Governing Board of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ghana, the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, the Health Sector Occupational Pension Scheme, the PSI Health and Social Sector Task Force and ITUC-Africa Occupational Health and Safety Network, CODEO Advisory Council of Ghana and the Ghana Social Partnership Council. She has received several invitations as a speaker for many reputable organizations such as WHO AFRO, PSI, ICN, Action Aid, THET, ITCILO, OTUWA and many others.

She has received a couple of awards in recognition of her dedication to the strengthening of Trade Unions and her passion and commitment to addressing issues bordering on Social Protection, Migration and adolescent sexual and reproductive health. She is married with three children.
