Dr. Derek Amoateng has been the chairman of the HSOPS Board of trustees since January 2018. He is a Specialist Obstetrician Gynecologist and the clinical coordinator of the Keta Municipal Hospital under the Ghana Health Service.
He has MBChB from the University of Ghana Medical School and a member of the Ghana College of Physicians and surgeons and has a part one fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons.
He is an old student of Mfantsipim School.
He has played extensive lead roles in the provision of healthcare at the primary level. He has a strong passion in-ensuring fairness and equity for the underprivileged especially women and the elderly. He is happily married with two (2) children.
